Privacy policy

How ShowCourt handles your information

We collect the information needed to run your account, your community, and the events you join. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

Effective September 9, 2026

Who is responsible

SHOWCOURT LLC operates ShowCourt and is responsible for the practices described in this policy. Community organizers also decide how they use member information to administer their communities, events, and leagues.

Information we collect

  • Account and profile details, such as your name, email address, phone number, photo, and playing information.
  • Community and competition activity, including applications, memberships, RSVPs, partners, schedules, scores, standings, and messages you choose to send.
  • Payment records, such as the amount, status, and Stripe identifiers for a transaction. Stripe processes card and bank details; ShowCourt does not store complete payment card numbers.
  • Technical information, such as device, browser, IP address, session, and error data.
  • Product-usage data, described in the Analytics section below.
  • Information you send when you contact support or report a problem.

How we use information

  • Provide login, profiles, community access, scheduling, competition records, payments, and support.
  • Send authentication codes and service messages. Promotional invitations and operational membership and event updates each require separate SMS consent.
  • Protect accounts, investigate abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal and financial obligations.
  • Understand reliability and product usage so we can maintain and improve ShowCourt.

When we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. The SMS information protections below apply to our sharing practices.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With community organizers and other members when needed for rosters, schedules, results, standings, and community administration.
  • With service providers that support hosting, authentication, messaging, analytics, customer support, security, and payments. Stripe receives payment information under its own privacy terms.
  • With authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, accounts, or ShowCourt.
  • As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how ShowCourt is used and to diagnose problems — which pages load slowly, where errors happen, which features matter. This can include session replays of clicks and navigation. Text you type is masked, and we never see passwords or payment details. We use this only to maintain and improve ShowCourt, never for advertising.

You can turn off analytics for your account in Settings, or email us and we'll exclude your account. Browser privacy tools may also limit analytics requests.

Analytics records are kept only as long as they're useful for diagnosing problems and understanding usage, then deleted or anonymized under the retention settings in our PostHog project, subject to security and legal obligations.

SMS messages and mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be sold or shared for another party's use. We may share the minimum information needed with service providers that help us deliver messages or provide customer support, solely to provide those services for ShowCourt.

Requesting a login verification code does not subscribe you to optional ShowCourt text messages. Optional SMS consent is separate from account creation, community membership, purchases, and acceptance of our general terms. Providing a phone number or responding to an event invitation does not by itself give that consent.

We send optional texts only for the program you choose: promotional event invitations or operational membership and event updates. Each requires its own consent. Earlier combined or membership-only preferences authorize neither program. We record grants and revocations with the time, source, disclosure version, and verified phone snapshot, and record the consent evidence used for delivery.

Message frequency varies; invitations are limited to two per seven days per community. Message and data rates may apply. You can turn off either choice in Settings. Reply STOP to either ShowCourt program to stop both. To subscribe again after STOP, reply START to each ShowCourt number you stopped, then reload your preferences and save a new choice. START alone never subscribes you or clears a block on another ShowCourt number. Reply HELP for help. See our SMS terms and opt-in information and Terms of Service.

Cookies

ShowCourt uses cookies and similar browser storage for signed-in sessions, security, preferences, and product measurement. Blocking them may prevent account features from working.

Retention and security

When an account-deletion request is accepted, we target profile, contact, Stytch identity, PostHog person data, and feasible support-thread deletion within 30 days. We retain minimum charge, payout, refund, dispute, receipt, and reconciliation records for 7 years after transaction settlement; unnecessary identifying fields are scrubbed at deletion. SMS and WhatsApp consent and delivery evidence is retained for 4 years. We retain a pseudonymous phone-matching key and service-specific SMS suppression state after account deletion to honor opt-outs, including opt-outs without an account. This matching key is not anonymous; suppression records remain while needed to prevent unwanted texts. Security, fraud, authentication, and audit logs are retained for 1 year.

Published competition results, ratings, standings, and history remain in pseudonymized form under “Deleted player.” Backups age out on their normal expiry cycle, and the deletion ledger is replayed before restored data can be used for authentication, communications, exports, or analytics.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
